Conservative Jaw Joint Therapy
Used to treat jaw dysfuntion and trisumus--jaw hypomobility and limited jaw opening--caused by:
Treating trismus generally utilizes passive motion and stretching exercises of the joint to stretch out tissues, and pump healthy fluids into the joint. This often improves pain and swelling in the joint and slowly increases the range-of-motion of the joint. Rehabiliation following a joint surgery is extremely important to help minimize scar tissue growth, heal thejoint, and to reduce pain and swelling. There are a variety of things a patient can do to improve their recovery both from the after-effects of surgery and to best rehabilitate the joint. These include diet, hygiene, pain reduction, and the joint rehabilitation exercises. Facial Pain and Swelling Therapy
There a a variety of treatment to deal with pain and swelling of the jaw and face from surgery, trauma, or other causes. We provide a list of available treatments on our conservative therapy info page, and we also carry a variety of heat/cold and compression products that utilize ice, heat and compression to minimze you pain and swelling.
